Ski for Longer with Less Knee Pain and Muscle Fatigue

What is the Ski Mojo?

The Ski Mojo is a brace that is worn whilst skiing or snowboarding. The bottom of the brace fixes to your ski boot whilst you sit into a harness at the top end.

In the middle is a stiff spring system which you can engage or disengage with the flick of a switch. When engaged, the spring offloads your body weight by over a third.

By offloading your body weight, the forces that your knees have to absorb whilst skiing are significantly reduced.

This can result in significantly reduced pain levels, in many cases allowing people to ski pain free.

If you haven’t read my post on Load Tolerance, please go and read it now. The post will improve your understanding of why areas of the body can become sensitive when we suddenly increase the forces we place through them and why reducing these forces can alleviate pain.

Who would benefit from using the Ski Mojo?

I would recommend the Ski Mojo brace if any of the following resonate with you. Do you experience…

  • Knee or leg pain that stops you from enjoying a full day on the slopes.
  • Fatigue levels that limit your enjoyment of being on the snow.
  • Feeling weak when on your skis.
  • A lack of confidence due to any of the above.
  • A sense of dread when thinking about how you might feel at the end of a full day of skiing.
  • Feelings of disappointment from having given up hope on being able to ski again.

Imagine the exhilarating feeling of finishing the last run of the day with a smile on your face, having been able to keep up with your friends and family.

Where can I get a Ski Mojo?

If you live in the Birmingham area, I am one of the recommended retailers for Ski Mojo. I can supply and fit the brace to you to ensure that you will get the most out of the brace.

The fitting comes at no extra cost to yourself and is included in the price of the brace. If you want more information you can go to my clinic website – Chris Tiley Physiotherapy or call 01215170806

If you can’t make it to Birmingham then you can also buy the Ski Mojo online by going to their website. You can also find other retailers throughout the UK and worldwide by clicking here.

Don't Forget the Strength Training

I don’t want you to use the brace as a substitute for doing strength training.

The Ski Mojo can help your muscles to support your body weight. However, you need to have sufficient muscle strength in the first place.

The best way to reduce the forces that go through your knees is to have stronger muscles to absorb those forces. Like an effective suspension system for the legs and body.

If you’ve got to the point where you need the brace to help you ski, then you should consider starting strength training now. It is not too late and you are never too old to build muscle strength.
